Strategy

Growth is always hard, but in times of change and uncertainty, even successful companies can face steep obstacles to achieving it. Trusted business models run out of steam. Disruptive startups seem to come from nowhere. Organizations so good at doing what made them successful face the “innovator’s dilemma” – and become victims of their own success. Leadership teams are too busy executing to think long-term, or just don’t have a process in which they feel confident.

Traditional approaches to growth strategy look to the past to predict the future. They are facing the wrong way. We believe that when you take a “future back” approach to setting your growth strategy, you can build new paths to growth that have not yet been imagined.

Creating the vision to own the future. We work with leaders at both the enterprise and division levels to align on a shared vision for the future: who we will become, where to play, and how to win. Specifically, we help organizations to:

  • Understand fast-moving and disruptive trends and their implications for your business.
  • Identify high-potential growth opportunities in adjacent and “white space” markets.
  • Define the role of M&A in the growth portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue game-changing ideas to accelerate growth.
  • Expose leadership misalignment: uniting the senior team around strategy.
  • Create a customer “jobs to be done” view of the marketplace and opportunities.
  • Develop a shared view of future aspirations and a detailed plan for how to achieve them.

Design Thinking

Each day, organizations face design challenges. For everything from customer experiences to products and services, design sets the foundations for an array of business decisions and changes. However, in today’s world, traditional approaches are no longer a viable option. Today’s challenges require new thinking, new tools, and new approaches.

Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to design. It embraces empathy, inspires creativity, and encourages experimentation to create solutions that meet the needs of the audience for whom you are designing. This highly experiential technique can be applied by any organization to meet the needs of their target audience.

Design Thinking Workshops are a potent tool. They improve upon existing organizational processes like brainstorming sessions or creative sprints and help organizations think from a human-centric perspective when it comes to product/solution development.

Our highly-experiential bespoke workshops teach Design Thinking concepts that tackle the real-world challenges that your organization faces. Designed for organizations and individuals hoping to become more human-centered in their approach and innovative in their thinking. Most applicable for business professionals, C-Suite executives, entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders from the public and private sectors.

Over the course of the workshop, you’ll learn:

  • How to empathize with the needs and desires of end-users.
  • How to define the real problem(s) that need to be solved.
  • Brainstorming techniques to ideate potential solutions.
  • Prototyping skills to act quickly on those ideas.
  • Testing methods to iterate refinements to develop the ideal solution.
  • Through collaboration, communication and reflection, you’ll learn key aspects of the Design Thinking approach and about how it’ll benefit your organization.

There are two types of workshops: In-person workshops of one to three days in duration; or virtual workshops of three to five days in duration.
